Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Sam and Rach Travel Trip Planner handles information when you use planner.samandrachtravel.com.

Trip information stored on your device

The planner stores trip drafts, saved itineraries, display preferences and your analytics choice in your browser's local storage so you can continue a trip later. This information normally stays on that device and browser and is not sent to Sam and Rach Travel.

You can delete individual trip plans from the planner, or clear your browser's site data to remove locally stored planner information.

Shareable trip links

If you create a shareable itinerary link, trip-planning information is encoded into the link itself. Anyone you send that link to may be able to view the itinerary. The planner is designed to leave booking confirmation/reference fields out of shareable links, but you should still treat a shared itinerary URL as information you have chosen to share.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is optional. The planner asks for your choice before analytics storage is enabled. If you choose Allow analytics, Google Analytics may process information such as page interactions, browser/device information and approximate geographic information according to Google's own policies. We use this to understand how the planner is used and improve it.

We do not intentionally send email addresses, booking confirmation numbers or itinerary contents to Google Analytics. You can change your analytics choice at any time using Cookie choices in the planner footer.

Currency detection

The planner may automatically choose a display currency using the country/region information in your browser language settings and your device timezone. It does not request GPS access or precise-location permission for this feature. You can always choose a different currency manually.

Saved accommodation links

If you paste a hotel or accommodation listing URL into the planner, that URL is stored with the rest of the trip in your browser. The planner may use the property name, itinerary dates, destination and traveller count to create booking/search links. An exact pasted URL may still be subject to the accommodation provider’s own tracking and privacy practices when you open it.

Affiliate and third-party links

The planner contains affiliate links to travel providers and affiliate networks, including services such as Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda/Stay22 and Airalo. When you follow one of these links, the destination provider or affiliate network may receive information needed to open the relevant search, such as destination, travel dates or traveller count, and may use its own cookies or tracking technologies.

Third-party websites are governed by their own privacy and cookie policies. Sam and Rach Travel does not control those websites.

Booking screenshot reader

If you choose to upload a booking screenshot, the planner uses an optical character recognition library in your browser to try to read text from the image. The screenshot itself is processed on your device for this feature and is not uploaded to Sam and Rach Travel. The OCR library downloads supporting code/language data from its content-delivery services. The planner reuses the OCR worker within the current page session to make subsequent scans faster. Extracted details are only applied to your locally stored trip after you press the apply button. Automated text recognition can make mistakes, so always check names, dates, booking references, flight numbers and prices against the original booking.

Typed place search

If you type a place that is not already in the planner database, the planner may send the place name and selected country to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to obtain approximate map coordinates. It does not send your full itinerary, email address or booking information with that lookup.

External services

The planner may use external services for functions such as reference currency conversion, translation, maps, accommodation links and analytics. Requests to those services can include ordinary technical information such as your IP address as part of normal internet communication.

Email

If you use an email link, your device's email application may open a draft. The current public planner does not publish or expose an email-account password or private mail credential in its website code.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures including HTTPS and browser security headers. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so avoid entering sensitive information such as passwords or payment-card details into planner notes.
